People have fears of heights, others spiders.
As for me, I have a fear of drilling. In specific, my tooth.

I can still clearly remember my first dental check up in primary school. The nurse sat me down to tell me I have a terrible cavity and it has to be drilled out. Shit. (of course, then I didn't know how to be vuglar yet) but being barely 10years old, having the thought of drilling freaked the hell of me. From then, everytime I know I have to visit the dentist, it would send shivers down my spines.

This morning was no different.
I woke up early (at about 8am) dreading of what was to come. Took a cab down to find that I was half-an-hour early for my appointment time! Great. The wait outside the clinics were, to say "unbearable" would be an understatement but the feeling was pretty much close to it. It didn't help that I was wearing a tank top, 3/4pants and slippers. I was freezing from both the cold-air and my nervousness. More then once I wanted to back out. Just grab my things and leave the clinic but I figured this has to happen sooner or later, so might as well get it over and done with. With that mindset, I went into the rooms to be treated.

You have no idea what I had to go through when I was lying down at the patient's chair. Of course, it's much more then physcial stress. Several x-rays were taken and the doc told me one of the bigger cavitities had gotten worst (!!!!) and that if I didn't get it fixed by (preferably) today, the next time I see her, it would have be a root canal treatment. Oh shit! I sat up, contemplated for a good 5-10 minutes before I said yes. She gave me an injection (to numb the area) and boy oh boy.. the needle looked freaking long and dangerous. I closed my eyes, concentrated on the music playing in the background and it was soon over in a minute. The entire drilling&patching process took more then half-an-hour but all ended well.

Overall, the trip was fairly pleasant. It was painless (YES! You heard me right. painless!!) and Dr. Lam was real patient with me. Considering I had two patch ups done (with injection) and x-rays. The money I paid in the end was really worth it. She wavied my consultation and x-ray fees. And to top that, she even gave me a student discount!

Orientation
As much as I would like to say I have enjoyed my school's 2-days orientation and that I made a lot of new friends and that I am now attached to my new school and how 'hip' my school is, I would not. Simply beacuse in my opinion, the 2days orientation bored the shit out of me.

They taught us and made us do a whole lot of cheers to get the 'school spirit' up. Somehow, I think that when I was back in IJ, the student leaders could do a much better job at that. It didn't help that most of the day was spent in the hot and humid weather. At first, the MCs on the stage were funny, then it got draggy because they kept repeating themselves.
One thing I have learnt though was, always be prepared, especially when you are on the stage, talking to a group of at least over 800 people. If you look like you don't know what you are doing or saying, it just shows that you are wasting all our time and that the entire orientation wasn't properly planned. I think a well planned event should run smoothly, and on time. When you plan for lunch to be at 12pm, you do not drag it to 12.45pm. It's kinda irritating.

I shall not go on with this...

Easter Saturday
Attended a mandarin easter vigil mass over at St. Peter's and Paul's that took a good 3 hours! from start to finish. It was pretty worth it though cause Mom was happy (which makes me happy) and I got to witness a real, body dipped in holy water, baptism. If I remembered clearly, 12 people (11adults and 1 baby) was baptised that saturday. Congrats, I guess.

After mass, rushed down to Swendens to have dinner. Mom and I ordered quite a bit. Chefs salad, soupy and crayfish pasta. Wells, on the way there, I had to walk past fish and Co's glass house and I saw people I wish I didn't have to meet. Seeing them only reminds me a fraction of the past I would rather forget. Nevertheless, said my 'hi's and left quickly.

Easter Sunday
Met up with Liana in the afternoon. Caught a movie (Take The Lead- It's a pretty good show, with all the dancing and whatsnot), had Pasta, did a little shopping and headed off. In the late evening, I got a little pissed though at certain people for not keeping up with their promises but my day ended well. Especially since Chickenricecuteboy spoke to me! Lols. You have no idea how crazy this sounds but I have been eyeing this cutie who works at the stall for the longest time. Not the perfect choice of career but hell... he's cute!

He came up and spoke to me first.
That means he made the first move.

I think that's pretty cool.

And in that less-then-5 mins of convo we had, He told me his name (duh!), where he stays (hougang),where he's from and when are his usual off days. He even told me he saw me on the train the other time. (actually, it was pure coincedence that we met. I was on my way to work at 10plus in the morning and when the train door opened, we just happened to be waiting on both sides. It was just a simple glance but he remembered!) Just as I was leaving, he told me to stay and chat. lols. He was still working so I didn't. I think he was kidding though...

Yay. Can't you see that i'm happy? ....lols.

Dear all,
Nop. Still haven't got those furries. Sigh.
The other day, I went over to Bishan to see them but my dad didn't really like what he saw so nop, still no hamsters.

Have collected my new passport already! Yay! I'm free to fly again! Is anyone going overseas anytime soon? Maybe you can squeeeeze me into your luggage... lols.

School's starting soon and orientation's next week. About school, Sistah says I think too much. Amansie said I should go in with an open mind. Liana just told me to relax. What the hell is wrong with me?!?! Hmm. I think when I leave my current workplace, I'm gonna kinda miss everyone, especially the service side. I asked if during my holidays I can go back to work, my head readily agreed. yay! Another source of income..

I am not excatly looking forward to orientation. This might sound wussy but I really don't like the prospect of being under the sun for too long. Also, close friends would know why I don't visit beaches as often as I like..or if any at all.

Mental note: I need to get 3/4 pants for orientation.
